Join Ryuei Shonin for Morning Gongyo

Today our service will commemorate the establishment of Nichiren Buddhism, when Nichiren first chanted the Odaimoku as a formal practice on April 28, 1253.

Welcome to gongyo, the sacred and sublime daily practice of Nichiren Buddhism. Gongyo means "diligent practice.” It involves auxiliary practices such as the recitation of passages from the Lotus Sutra as well as various vows and dedications, and the primary practice of chanting the Sacred Title (Odaimoku): Namu Myoho Renge Kyo.
